Our History
Our History
From the time Regi Pope gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1984, he has always perceived that God had something special for him to do in the Kingdom. As one untimely born, Regi entered the pastorate in 2004. Even then, there was still a great work for him to do. This led him to start a bible school.
While sitting at the feet of one of his most beloved mentors, Dr. Earline Opal Allen, founder and dean of Greater Emmanuel Bible Institute Houston, Texas, the Lord put in Regi’s heart that he would one day launch a bible school for God’s people and for God’s glory.
After graduating from GEBI’s Advanced Leadership Program, Regi furthered his biblical education by attending Immanuel Temple School of the Bible, Houston, Texas and graduated with a doctorate in theology degree in May 2016.
After much prayer and planning, the Holy Spirit moved on Regi’s heart to execute the vision. Carpenter’s Bible Institute was launched in the fall of 2019 with 25 students.
CBI is fully accredited by the Association of Independent Christian Colleges and Seminaries (AICCS). All praise, honor and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom all blessings flow. Hallelujah!

Regi is also the pastor of The Carpenter’s House, La Marque, Texas. He and his wife Jacqueline have a blended family of 11 children, 7 grandchildren and counting.

Welcome to Carpenter’s Bible Institute. We are located in La Marque, Texas. Thank you for your interest in our college, where Bible-based, Christ-centered classes are offered to laypersons, teachers, preachers and pastors. We are here to help you reach your spiritual and educational purpose in the Kingdom.
Whether you are called by God to serve a particular ministry or desire to have a more in-depth study of God’s Word to live a life dedicated to Christ, we will assist you in getting where God has called you to be. We are an independent, non-denominational, private Christian institution committed to providing a progressive and continuing Christian education program.

We Believe
We believe the Bible, Old and New Testament, to be inspired (God Breathed), fully and completely, the Word of God. We believe it to be without error, infallible and trustworthy and the final authority for all Christian faith and life: (2 Tim. 3: 16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; Heb. 4:12).
We believe in the One True God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and exist eternally as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit: (Gen. 1:1-2, 26; Exo. 3:14; John 8:58; Acts 5:3-4).
We believe in Jesus Christ, Creator of all things, the only Son of God who is true God and true Man. He
was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered and died on the Cross, the
complete and final sacrifice for the sins of mankind according to the Scriptures. On the third day, He
arose bodily from the dead with all power in heaven and earth and ascended into heaven, where, at the
right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate: (Matt. 1:21; Luke 1:31-35;
John 1:1, 14).
We believe in the Holy Spirit, Creator of all things, Third Person in the Godhead, who is eternally and
distinctly God. We do not believe the Holy Spirit is an "it" or a "force." He is a Person. He convicts men
of sin, regenerates the believing sinner, indwells, comforts, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer
for godly living and service: (Gen. 1:2, 26; John 14:17, 26; Acts 1:8).
We believe Man was created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26) but fell into sin and is therefore lost and in
need of salvation (Gen. 3) and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit, being Born Again, can
salvation and spiritual life be obtained (John 3:3).
We believe Salvation is only by Grace through Faith (Eph. 2:8-9) because of the shed blood of Jesus
Christ, His death and Resurrection from the dead and is the only provision for justification and salvation
for all who believe (Rom. 10:9-10). And only those who receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior
are born of the Holy Spirit and are the sons of God (John 1:12; Acts 4:12).
We believe in the eternal security of the believer: (John 3:16; 5:24; 10:28-29; 20:31; 1 John 5:11-13, 20; Jude 20).
We believe in water Baptism (by immersion) (Rom. 6:4) and Communion (the Lord’s Supper) (1 Cor.
11:23-26) to be ordinances of Christ to the Church and all true believers and only believers should share
in it.
We believe in the Second Return of Jesus Christ which is personal, visible, pre-millennial, and His
imminent physical reign on the earth for one thousand years before the Final Judgment:
(Matt. 24:30; Rev.20:4).
We believe in the Ministry Gifts: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers: (Eph. 4:11).
We believe in the demonstration of the Fruit of the Spirit: (Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9).
We believe in the Gifts of the Spirit: active and relevant for today: (1 Cor. 12; Rom. 12; 1 Pet. 4; 1 Cor. 14).
